What's In It?
Ingredients include water, coconut oil, beeswax, macadamia oil, grapeseed oil, and mineral oil. Things you will not find in NatureWell Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Moisturizing Cream are parabens or formaldehyde preservatives, phthalate fragrances and artificial colors, as NatureWell makes a conscious decision to prohibit these items in their products. Final formulas are also never tested on animals.
What Does Paraben-Free Mean?
Parabens are a family of related chemicals commonly used as preservatives in cosmetics. Preservatives may be used to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and mold to protect both the products and consumers. Parabens that are used most commonly in cosmetics are methylparaben, ethylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben. The FDA stated in an official post on parabens that they do not believe there is a reason to be concerned about parabens in cosmetics after a 2004 study by Dr. Philippa Darbre and a 2008 opinion from the European Commission's Scientific Committee on Consumer Products suggested that parabens may disrupt hormones and mimic estrogen. NatureWell Extra Virgin Coconut Oil Moisturizing Cream is formulated without parabens.
